Tournaments 08/13/11

Here's a re-post of what I sent out to BAVTES:

Hi All,
I talked to Ira about having the tournament on a different date and he said he'd try to play with people during the week sometime before he leaves. Too bad we can't have a going away tournament, but thems the breaks.

The official tournament date is August 13th. I'll go ahead and run it, but at a lower intensity level than before. If someone is willing to run part or all of the tournaments, that would be appreciated, I just want to make sure they happen. I can't make people come, only let them know what's going on, offer rides, and hope they arrive. Commitments to come are highly appreciated, the earlier the better!

There will be two tournaments, both 2r+f. Prize support is undetermined at this point, but we will likely have a pool for those who want to contribute money to food in any event. With the new tournament rules, any tournament winner with 10+ players is qualified for the 2012 North American Championship.

Tournament One: Regaining the Upper Hand

Start time: 11:00 AM sharp (arrive early)
Anticipated end time: 5:30 PM

Tournament Two: Fire in the Blood

Start time: 6:00 PM
Anticipated end time: 12:30 AM

The rounds are 2 hours each, but I'm trying to be realistic about the time to set the next table and the need for short breaks. There will likely be a place to crash for those who don't want to make the drive back late at night.
